Rauw Alejandro
Raul Alejandro Ocasio Ruiz, born January 10, 1993 is a Puerto Rican singer/songwriter. He has been dubbed the "King of Modern Reggaeton".[2][3He is part of the "new generation" of Puerto Rican musicians. His debut album Afrodisiaco was released in November of 2020. Vice Versa was his second studio album. The album's lead track, "Todo de Ti", was released in June 2021. From 12 nominations, the singer has received two Latin Grammy Awards. Raul Alejandro Ruiz the Latin Grammy Award winner, was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on January 10, 1993. He also grew up in Canovanas and Carolina. His father, guitarist Raul Ocasio Ruiz, as well as his mother Maria Nelly Ruiz (backing vocalist) introduced him to a variety of his musical influences, including Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, and Chris Brown. Six years ago, Alejandro lived with his father for many years throughout the United States, mostly New York City and Miami in which he was inspired by R&B and dancehall. Alejandro and Anuel, who is a friend of a fellow Puerto Rican rapper, were childhood friends. They both attended the same school and shared classes. [9][10] Alejandro took part in school talent shows in his early years due to his love of dancing. After graduation from high school Alejandro attended the University of Puerto Rico. From the age at which he was six until he was twenty, he played soccer, but he quit after deciding that he "could not perform as he expected to" and was injured at age 20. In order to be scouted by the Premier Development League (PDL) the player moved to Orlando, Florida. Rauw Alejandro's music style includes Latin R&B, reggaeton, dancehall, and rhythmic pop. Billboard commented that it has contributed to "set him apart from the growing group of pop-leaning reggaetoneros". He was inspired early on by Presley and Jackson and later, Ricky Martin, Daddy Yankee as well as Chris Brown. He also credits Ciara as a musical influence.
